Response from a few of our Customers...
Here's a picture of the Model XII in ACTION on the Volga River in Russia. Our newest customer and friend Stan writes, "Two words about the knife. It has shown itself...Heavy enough to cut branches of a tree and thin enough to cut vegetables. It is a good knife!''

So, Mr. White, you cutlery genius.

Here I am with a work of art and superb tool that I cannot possibly bring myself to use.

It is not only masterfully made - flawless in fit, finish, and grind - but also,
this knife is exactly what I wanted.

I say exactly.

You chose a perfect color for the handle spacers, and your use of a slightly different grind than usual - well, the entire effect just blew me away. ...

The cocobolo itself is gorgeous, as you said.

And the sheath in brown rather than black is perfect.

And I believe this is the sharpest edge on a new knife that I've ever seen.

The whole situation is just totally unconscious.

Thanks, and thanks again.

Just wanted to let you know I took the Model XII you made me on my ram hunt about 3 weeks ago.  The other hunters in camp were impressed with its sharpness.  I was impressed with the sheath and its retention capability.  I shot a ram with my bow and had to bail off the mountain after it (tough critters)!  The place in West Texas is straight up or straight down and all rock and cedar!  I was one tired puppy when I got through chasing that ram.  I had to literally push my way through numerous cedar thickets and ended up climbing back up to the roadway by having to get on my hands and knees and literally crawl through and under the cedar brush!  I was exhausted and actually forgot about my knife in all the excitement and hard work.  I had several scratches on my hands and arms when I reached the top and when I looked for my knife, I was relieved to see it snugly in the form-fitted sheath right where it should be!

Very nice product.  Thanks again!
C.B.

Mr. Eddie White,

I received my Model XII Clip Point ...  It is excellent!  Thank you very much.  I carried it all weekend, and showed everyone.  I was like a kid at Christmas.

If you don’t mind, I’d like to tell you how I came to choose one of your products.  I searched the internet for a quality handmade knife.  I found quite a few people making custom knives.  (Lots of different materials, lots of different prices)  I can only wonder about the care and the skill it takes to produce some of the fine pieces that I saw.  I’m sure many people purchase knives to put on a shelf and just appreciate the craftsmanship.  Some are truly works of art.

Well, I was looking for a work of art that I could actually use.  I found that in your knife.  When I weighed design, price and functionality, you were the only choice.

I had decided on the Model XII, and just happened to check AVAILABLE NOW!  So, I jumped on it.  I look forward to future purchases with you.

Thanks Again!

R. T.

Eddie's knives..

Hey all,

I just purchased two of these (model IX hunter)...These knives are just incredible!!

First off the fit & finish is dead nuts perfect! The scales are matched exquisitely in every detail including length, width, thickness and grain pattern. The handle itself is nice and chunky and is a full four inches in length. Its perfectly proportional scales fits around its indestructible full tang construction super snug making this a handle fit for a mans size paw, and is not one of those skimpy and skinny hard to hold handles you get with some customs.

Second, the grind on this blade is as sweet and as uniform as any I have seen including my very high end customs, my Doziers and Ruanas customs or any other for that fact! These blades are literally hair popping shaving sharp right out of the sheath...

.. So of coarse I just had to use it immediately. Not having anything to gut or skin right after the Postman arrived and having a B-B-Q supper to prepare, I decided to utilize my new shadowknives hunter and was very impressed with how the lightly sanded Micarta scales stick right to the palm of your hand when wet! Of coarse the blade performed like a champ going through a pork shoulder and boning multiple racks of ribs with ease as well as cutting and shaving all matter of fruit and veggies.

Last but not least you all will be happy to receive a very fine reinforced leather hide sheath that works more like a pistol holster than a simple knife scabbard. I don't know what his technique is for preparing his sheathes but they go well beyond merely a strong knife sheath!

Suffice it to say I have a new knifemaker for my future customs!!
Thanks Eddie!!

Best,
Anthony

(Here's an excerpt from our friend SpearZ in Canada)

...I am finding it to be one of the sharpest and best cutting knives I have ever had..

thanks again, love that knife and the way it cuts, it's a scalpel.

Martin

It is an excellent usable EDC knife, in my opinion. Well made in every aspect. Great knife and sheath, I wore it all day extremely comfortable knife on your belt. SpearZ on BF

In the Trinity Alps of Northern California from Mike- "I wanted to send you some pictures from my hunting trip last Saturday. I am extremely happy with the knife I bought from you. Not only does it hold an unbelievably sharp blade but IT BROUGHT ME SOME LUCK as well. I shot a 3x3 buck in the Trinity Alps on opening day. We were way up at about 3500 feet elevation and had to pack in so I had to do all of the butchering right there on the mountain. I hope you enjoy the pictures (sorry I could not get a cleaner shot of the knife). I look forward to purchasing another Shadow Knife in the near future."

The Model IX arrived!

Eddie,

This is by far the nicest knife I own. Everything is simply outstanding. The

handle looks and feels great, the blade is sharper than most production

blades (including Spyderco's) that I own, and the sheath has a fit that

rivals the fit of Normarks work! On top of all that your knives are quite

affordable. It will see plenty of use indoors and out!

All these factors lead me to the conclusion that this is the first of

several knives I will eventually get from you.

Have a great evening knowing that you have yet another regular customer.

The best to you and yours,

Mike

Eddie, I got home today and the knife was here. It goes without saying that it is awesome. I really like the false edge that you started putting on these. It really added a nice touch to it. The wood is one of the nicest pieces of rosewood I have ever seen. It is beyond my expectations, but I wouldn't expect any less from Shadowknives.

Thanks
Bob

Eddie,
I just wanted to tell you that the last clip point I bought from you
was given to a friend who just loves clip points with sharpened clips.
He took it elk hunting last week and got his bag. Anyway he told me
after skinning the critter (8x7) the knife was still sharp enough to at
least start on another one. He was impressed by your steel. His comment
was the you must have your heat treating down just right to get 440 (C) to
hold an edge like that.
Thought you'd like to know. BTW my friend has been collecting knives
for over 50 years and is a lot harder to impress than I am.
 Thanks,
 Ben

Eddie White - Shadow Knives GOOD

I just got my knife from Eddie, it was a smooth and very satisfactory transaction. The workmanship on this knife is excellent as expected from looking at his site and seeing the experience he has at making knives. Great price, great knife, very nicely made leather sheath. ...

... I'm a slightly large (i.e. big and fat) guy and the handle fits my hand beautifully. The canvas micarta is finished just right - not slickly finished but nicely done to look good while still providing a great grip. Much better looking than a bead-blasted canvas handle. The blade finish is also attractive, with even grinds and a nice distal taper. I like to look down the nose of a knife, point on, and see a perfect mirror image of the grinds on left and right - and they are. And yes, the sheath was very well done indeed. It's stiff, looks good and holds the knife right in there. I'm very satisfied!

I got my knife today. Absolutely beautiful work. Best knife I have ever bought. The look and feel are just awesome.

Thanks!

Greg

OK, guys, at last I can brag on my knife. Eddie made me promise not to tell about it, but now the cat's out of the bag. It came hair-popping sharp, the fit and grind is dead-on and the G-10 isn't slippery. As usual, the sheath fit is perfect. You can't beat Eddie's knives or his price. And this orange G-10 is something special. Can you tell I like his work? Happy Knife Year!! Bill.

Eddie (and his wife) can't be beat for quality, value, and service. Great blade and great people to deal with. Bill

I got out for my first fishing trip of the season today, took your #9 that I bought … attached to my outdoors "Nessmuk/Ditty" bag. Really like this knife! … the sheath in the pictures is an old-style Bark River Knife & Tool Northstar. --The Last Confederate
You are in for a real treat my friend.. When you see, and then expierence your shadowknives custom knife while performing your own cutting chores you will be simply amazed at what a fine tool this hunter really is. --Anthony

These are great knives you guys. I just received my large model 9 from Eddie this week, and boy is it a beauty with a "let me at `em edge". Fit and finish is on par with knives that cost 3-4 times as much. Eddie and his wife are super nice to deal with and Eddie has been grinding blades for over 30 years. Best of the best here folks: great price point, excellent fit and finish, and a highly experienced bladesmith.

The knife has arrived. The handles are fantastic and the feel of the knife in your hand is solid and comfortable. The blade is balanced nicely by the sheephorn and it all comes together. Thanks very much for doing a first class job Eddie and I wish good luck in the future.......Tom B.

(Here are some emails from satisfied customers. This is printed with proper permissions.)

Just wanted to let you know that I received the knife today. The photo
does not do it any justice. I'm a very happy customer; perfect blade
shape, beautiful grinds and a very comfortable handle. I can't wait to
put it to use! Thanks for a smooth transaction. This was my first
custom; I don't think there's any turning back to commercial knives
 now!

 Best,

Brian

My Dad loved the knife! He loves it, loves it, loves it! He's called me twice about it yesterday asking questions and told me again today how much he liked it. Not to mention the half hour or so he spent just staring at it when he opened it on Sunday. Just thought I would let you all know. Thanks again! I'm sure I'll be getting him another one in the future!
